Newborns usually feed once every 2-3 hours, but there are individual differences and there are different situations. If the child eats frequently, less than 1 hour, this situation is considered to be a possible case of insufficient breast milk production or insufficient formula feeding. The identification of this situation is to give the baby some more formula, and if the child is able to take a longer time to feed again after eating, it proves that it is caused by insufficient feeding. In another case, if the child still does not ask for milk for more than 3-4 hours, it may be seen in disease states or premature babies. In this case, if the child has poor response, unsatisfactory weight gain, or other signs of illness, it is recommended to go to the neonatal unit for treatment to avoid delaying the child’s condition.
