It is not recommended to add extra glucose to milk powder. Milk powder itself contains carbohydrates, which can meet the baby’s carbohydrate needs for growth and development. Adding extra glucose disorders the ratio of various nutrients in the formula, especially the ratio of protein, fat and carbohydrates, and affects the absorption and utilization of the three energy-supplying nutrients in the baby’s gastrointestinal tract. Over time, this may lead to a lack of protein and fat in the baby’s body and an excessive intake of carbohydrates, resulting in excessive calorie intake and excessive weight gain for the baby. Too much glucose will affect the absorption and utilization of other nutrients in the formula, and also increase the chances of your baby suffering from dental caries, diabetes and other diseases.
