How to exercise for atlantoaxial joint instability

Atlantoaxial joint instability patients can follow the doctor’s instructions to carry out neck muscle strength exercises and stability exercises after a clear diagnosis by a professional doctor.
Atlantoaxial joint instability refers to the displacement of the two lateral joints constituting the atlantoaxial joint due to infection, trauma, strain injury and other factors, which cannot be reset by itself and produces cervical vertebrae pressure symptoms such as dizziness, tinnitus, numbness in the head and face, and so on. The following exercises can be performed:
1. Cervical muscle strength exercises: the patient sits in a seated position, uses elastic bands to apply resistance, and does small-amplitude cervical forward flexion, backward extension, and lateral flexion exercises against resistance, and then returns to the neutral position after the end to enhance the strength of the cervical muscles.
2. Cervical spine stability exercises: the patient is seated, the elastic band is placed behind the pillow, the side, the forehead, the patient slowly fights against the force to isometric contraction for 10~15 seconds as a group, each time each direction to do 3~5 groups.
Exercise for atlantoaxial joint instability should be carried out under the guidance of a professional doctor, and small-amplitude low-intensity training should be the main focus in the exercise, and there should not be dizziness, headache and other discomforts. If such discomfort occurs during the exercise, it is necessary to stop the exercise immediately and seek medical examination in time to avoid delaying the condition.
