Is a ground glass nodule in the right lung lobe serious?

The severity of a ground glass nodule in the right lobe of the lung needs to be determined by the size and nature of the ground glass nodule. Right lung lobe ground glass nodules, if less than 5mm or 3mm are mostly benign nodules, patients are advised to follow up once a year and give high resolution CT of the chest to clarify the nature of the nodule. If the nodule is 8mm or above, it needs to be taken seriously. If it is accompanied by short burr, lobar, pleural pulling sign, pleural depression sign and other lung cancer descriptions, it needs to be highly alert to the carcinogenesis of the ground glass nodule. If necessary, a thoracic surgeon should be asked to perform surgical excision and obtain pathological tissue examination to determine whether the nodule is cancerous. In conclusion, whether a ground glass nodule in the right lung lobe is serious depends mainly on the size of the nodule and whether its nature has the tendency of early carcinogenesis.
