What is the uterus used for?

The uterus is used for the production of life, menstruation and endocrine metabolism.
1. Conceiving life: The uterus is the location where the fertilized egg formed by the sperm and the egg lays, and it is also the environment where the fetus grows. If the uterus is missing, a woman cannot get pregnant.
2. Produce menstruation: Under normal circumstances, the ovaries will secrete estrogen, which will cause the endometrium to undergo proliferative changes. If no fertilized egg is formed after ovulation, the corpus luteum will gradually shrink and the endometrium will shed to form menstruation.
3. Participate in endocrine metabolism: The uterus itself secretes many hormones, such as prostaglandins, prolactin, endothelin, cytokines and enzymes. It participates in the endocrine metabolism of women.
The uterus has some other roles, it is recommended that annual physical examination, if there is any discomfort, to be actively examined and treated.
