How long does omalizumab take for hives?

There is generally no specific time determination for omalizumab for urticaria, and the duration of treatment needs to be adjusted based on patient response and safety. Omalizumab for urticaria is usually administered biweekly or four-weekly, depending on the patient’s weight and serum total IgE value, and its effectiveness and safety are generally evaluated at 16 weeks. Treatment may be continued for at least 12 months if the patient responds favorably, but should routinely be evaluated every three months during continued use. If the patient achieves good control with moderate-dose therapy, consideration may be given to attempting discontinuation. If the patient responds poorly, the dose of omalizumab needs to be increased and reassessed after eight weeks. Discontinuation is recommended if it is not effective, and if it is effective and treatment needs to be continued, it can be intermittent or discontinued. In case of relapse, antihistamines or re-injection of omalizumab can be taken. Omalizumab should be used to treat urticaria under the supervision of a doctor, and the dose and duration of treatment should be adjusted according to the condition.
