Difference between common pneumonia and viral pneumonia

Common pneumonia is usually caused by bacteria. Common clinical manifestations include cough, yellow sputum, fever, and severe pneumonia may present with chest pain, coughing up blood, and dyspnea. Viral pneumonia, on the other hand, is characterized by an irritating dry cough with a little white sputum, a high clinical fever, dyspnea, normal or below normal blood counts, and usually no increase in C-reactive protein and calcitoninogen. Common pneumonia is treated with antibiotics, such as cefoperazone sodium, and viral pneumonia needs to be treated with antiviral drugs, such as oseltamivir and zanamivir.
