Babies who want to breastfeed all the time may be caused by insufficient feeding, over-dependence, physical discomfort and other reasons.
1. Insufficient feeding: for example, insufficient breast milk secretion or less milk formula feeding will cause infants to be insufficient and thus frequent breastfeeding. It is also possible that infants need more milk because of their rapid growth and development, so they will breastfeed more frequently.
2. Excessive dependence: babies keep on breastfeeding, especially at night, it is likely to be a kind of dependence mentality, mainly because babies are insecure and will suck on the nipple frequently.
3. Physical discomfort: When the infant is not feeling well, he/she may seek affection through breastfeeding, usually stopping after a few mouthfuls, which is frequent. It is usually accompanied by other symptoms of discomfort, such as vomiting, bloating, diarrhea, coughing and spitting.
Therefore, when an infant keeps asking for milk and is accompanied by other symptoms, parents should take the infant to the hospital in a timely manner for treatment of the primary illness under the direction of the doctor.
