Can a bee sting kill you?

Death from bee stings is rare, but can be life-threatening if you are allergic to bee toxins or if you have been stung by many bees without prompt treatment. If mild, it may present as localized redness of the skin, lumps, itching and pain may be present. The symptoms can usually be relieved on their own or with soapy water. Bee venom has many components that are easily allergenic, such as pentoxifylline. Some people are allergic to these toxins and may experience severe localized skin pain as well as itching, and in severe cases, discomfort in the precordial region, generalized weakness, dizziness and headache as well as fever. In such cases, it is necessary to go to the hospital in time for treatment, otherwise, if it leads to the occurrence of systemic poisoning, anaphylactic shock may occur, followed by death.
