Showering after the MMR vaccine is usually allowed after 1 to 3 days, as showering right away may cause the injection site to get wet, which can lead to bacterial infections. The MMR vaccine, commonly known as the combined live attenuated measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine, stimulates the body to develop immunity against the measles, mumps, and rubella viruses. The area where the MMR vaccine was given is an invasive wound and it is best not to bathe for a short period of time. Bathing may lead to water ingress at the injection site, which may cause local bacterial infection, resulting in localized redness, swelling, pus, and in some severe cases, systemic infection. Therefore, if the patient has finished the MMR vaccination, it is recommended to take a bath after the pinhole site has completely healed in 1~3 days to avoid serious effects on the patient. In daily life, Jian recommended to maintain adequate rest, avoid strenuous exercise, to light diet, avoid eating spicy stimulating greasy food.
