Characteristics of hand, foot and mouth disease recovery

The recovery of HFMD is characterized by normalization of body temperature, healing of skin rash, good mental status, and restoration of normal values of neutrophils, leukocytes and C-reactive protein by routine blood and C-reactive protein tests. 1. Temperature returns to normal: patients with HFMD usually have fever, and their temperature will not return to normal until the recovery period. 2. Rash is cured: HFMD patients will have rashes on the hands, feet, mouth, buttocks, etc. Typical rashes are maculopapular rashes, papules and herpes. The rash on the hands, feet, mouth and buttocks will disappear completely and return to the healthy skin condition. 3. Good mental state: Hand, foot and mouth disease can be accompanied by symptoms such as cough, runny nose, loss of appetite, poor mental health, drowsiness, easy to frighten and so on, which can lead to the patient’s poor mental state. After the symptoms disappear, the patient’s mental state returns to the past without discomfort. 4. Blood test and C-reactive protein test: During HFMD, white blood cell counts can be seen to be elevated or significantly lowered, and the proportion of neutrophils and C-reactive protein are elevated. The values will return to symptoms after healing. It is recommended that the patient can go to the hospital for follow-up to check when the virus is completely eliminated from the body.
