Hepatic ascites is mostly seen in advanced cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma, etc. Patients always feel hungry may be related to diabetes mellitus, hyperthyroidism or the disease itself.
1. Diabetes mellitus: patients with liver cirrhosis may have damaged pancreatic β-cells, which may lead to abnormal blood sugar regulation and hepatogenic diabetes mellitus, resulting in the patients’ feeling of hunger.
2. Hyperthyroidism: For patients with cirrhosis, if combined with hyperthyroidism, the patient may have hyperphagia, which may lead to feeling hungry all the time.
3. Disease-related: if patients with advanced liver cancer always feel hungry, it may be due to consuming a large amount of nutrients in the body, which leads to fast digestion and metabolism, coupled with poor absorption of nutrients or insufficient supply of energy, which will lead to the situation of feeling hungry all the time.
Generally, cirrhosis itself will not have the symptom of hunger. Patients with liver ascites always feel hungry, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time, carry out the appropriate examination, clarify the cause, and then carry out the appropriate treatment. Daily diet should be given low fat, easy to digest, light, low salt, high protein, high calorie food, eat more vegetables and fruits, which can help patients to improve resistance.
