Is astigmatism a result of too much cell phone play?

Astigmatism is not usually caused by playing with cell phones much. Because most astigmatism is genetically related, and acquired astigmatism is often associated with trauma and surgical injury, it is very rare for cell phone play to cause astigmatism. However, for people who already have astigmatism, playing with cell phones excessively can easily increase the degree of astigmatism.
Astigmatism is caused by a variety of factors that result in different refractive errors in each position of the eye, causing the image to be out of focus and making it hard to see. Most astigmatism is associated with congenital factors; acquired astigmatism is also often associated with trauma and surgical injury. Excessive cell phone play, especially when the posture is incorrect, may gradually distort the cornea and lead to astigmatism, but it is rare in clinical practice.
It should be noted, however, that although excessive viewing of cell phones has little to do with the development of astigmatism, for those who already suffer from astigmatism, the prolonged stimulation of the strobe will tend to lead to an increase in astigmatism, as well as the development of myopia.
Therefore, although the occurrence of astigmatism is usually not due to playing too much with cell phones, it can lead to the occurrence of myopia and also tend to increase the degree of astigmatism, so it is advisable not to play with cell phones for a long time.
