Why does my skin itch in winter?

Every winter, a lot of patients come to me complaining that their skin is itchy again, what should I do? Here I will briefly explain to you, I hope it will be helpful to you. Winter dermatitis, also called lack of lipid dermatitis, is mainly due to the dry winter climate, the skin surface oil secretion is reduced, lack of sufficient moisturizing and a series of symptoms. The clinical manifestations are fine scales on the skin, and in severe cases, “broken porcelain”-like cracks can be seen, especially on the front of the shins of the lower legs, and dry cracks can also appear on the back of the hands. The dry and flaky skin will stimulate the itchy nerve, which will lead to itchy symptoms, and scratching will lead to scratching and bleeding. Excessive scratching also affects the quality of sleep. How can winter dermatitis be prevented and treated? Prevention of winter dermatitis can be done from the bathing and diet aspects of daily life. The number of times you take a bath in the day should not be too frequent, once every 2-3 days, and each bath should not take too long, 5-10 minutes. 2, to avoid high water temperature or external use of strong alkaline soap, body wash, after the bath can be appropriate use of emollients. 3, diet, do not eat spicy and thick, such as hot pot barbecue and other foods, do not eat too much tonic food, such as chicken, beef, lamb, dog and seafood, drink more water, eat more vegetables and fruits. 4, clothing must wear cotton, because chemical fibers are prone to static electricity, the skin has a strong irritation, causing skin itching. If the skin is red and a rash appears, topical hormonal creams can be used, such as Eloson, Euthyrox, etc. Do not rub more than twice in a day. Also use it in combination with an emollient cream, but rub the ointment first and then the emollient cream. I hope you will no longer suffer from itching all over your body that leads to sleepless nights!
