The Dangers of Sleep Epilepsy

Sleep epilepsy, in the case of benign childhood epilepsy with central-temporal lobe spikes, also known as BECT, is usually self-resolving and essentially harmless, but it also includes types such as LGS syndrome and infantile spasms, which, if diagnosed, are quite complex and difficult to treat, and are usually poorly controlled in both types. If the child suffers from prolonged epileptic seizures, it can lead to delayed intellectual development, as well as mental and psychological developmental disorders. These two types of epilepsy are inherently combined with intellectual abnormalities and are more difficult to control clinically, allowing the child to be treated with specialized antiepileptic therapy. The child can be treated with specialized antiepileptic therapy. Rehabilitation therapy, including training of intelligence, is also given.
