The cerebellum is the main center in the nervous system responsible for motor regulation, which maintains somatic balance and regulates muscle tone and random movements. If the patient has an infarction in the cerebellum, the main manifestations are dizziness, violent visual rotation, nausea, vomiting, ataxia, balance disorder and dysarthria. If the lesion is in the cerebellar earthworms, the patient will present with ataxia of the trunk, balance disorders, unsteadiness, swaying to the left and right when walking, and a staggering gait. In the case of cerebellar hemisphere damage, the patient will present with ataxia of the ipsilateral limbs, the patient will have poor distance discrimination, poor turn-taking, accompanied by hypotonia, diminished or absent tendon reflexes, and horizontal nystagmus and cerebellar speech will be present.
