White Flower Snake Clinical Application Experience White Flower Snake is a young snake of the cobra family Silver Ring, sweet, salty and warm in nature, poisonous, human liver meridian. It has the functions of dispelling wind and activating blood circulation, promoting circulation and fixing fright. It is mostly used clinically for the treatment of hemiplegia, joint pain and other diseases. In recent years, the author found that the drug was effective in the treatment of polymyositis, lumbar disc herniation, embolic phlebitis and other diseases, and no obvious toxic side effects were seen. Three cases are reported as follows: Yang Ming, Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Henan Provincial People’s Hospital 1, polymyositis Patient, male, 57 years old, cadre. Complaint: difficulty in swallowing, muscle pain with weakness in the proximal extremities for 4 months. History: 4 months ago, he had difficulty in swallowing for unknown reasons, pain and weakness in the proximal muscles of the limbs, limitation in lifting and squatting of the limbs, and progressive aggravation. Physical examination: muscle pressure pain in the extremities is obvious, without myasthenia gravis, and no pathological signs were elicited. ESR: 60 mm/h, urinary creatine: 40 mg/24 h, EMG and muscle biopsy: myositis. Diagnosis: polymyositis. Chinese medicine evidence: myopathy (heat toxicity and blood stasis). Treatment: Clearing heat and detoxification, activating blood circulation. The formula: Western ginseng (decoction) 10g Erhua 30g white flower snake 1 (grinding noodles punching), the whole worm 10g Di Long 15 g, Chuan Niu Kne 15 g, made milk not (each) lOg chicken blood vine 30 g, blood 10 g, licorice 5 g, 1 daily with water decoction, with the evidence of the increase and decrease of medication. 3 months later, the symptoms are basically relieved, prednisone tablets gradually decreasing or even stop using. The symptoms of polymyositis are gradually reduced or even stopped. In Chinese medicine, the acute stage of polymyositis is characterized by heat and toxicity and internal stasis of blood. 2. Postoperative PLD for lumbar disc herniation Patient, female, 43 years old, worker. Complaint: lumbar pain radiating to the left lower limb with numbness for six months. History: Six months ago, due to overexertion, she developed lumbar pain and radiated to the left thigh and the back of the calf with numbness, and was diagnosed with lumbar 4-5 disc herniation by CT examination. He was diagnosed with lumbar 4-5 disc herniation after CT examination. He had traction, massage, and pain medication with poor results, and his symptoms were recurrent and gradually worsened, so he was transferred to this ward after undergoing percutaneous disc aspiration (PLD) at our hospital. Chinese medicine evidence: lumbar pain (kidney deficiency and blood stasis evidence). Treatment: Tonifying the kidney and invigorating blood, promoting circulation and relieving pain. The formula: Shu Di 15 g Shan Yao 15 g Qiao Guo Guo lO g Cuscuta 30 g, Deer horn gum 10 g (melted), Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum 10 g, Eucommia 30 g, Bone crushed tonic 30 g, White flowered snake 1 (powdered and taken), Whole worm 10 g, Di Long 15 g, Chuan Niu Knee 15 g, Lactuca lactis 10 g, Glycyrrhiza glabra 5 g, daily decoction, half a month of treatment, the symptoms disappeared, and the CT results were normal after one month. Complaint: swelling and pain in the right lower limb for two months. Present history: two months ago, he developed painful redness and swelling of the right lower limb for unknown reasons and had unfavorable activity. Past history: Previously healthy, no history of drug allergy. Physical examination: BP 18/11 kPa, clear and cooperative, no cardiopulmonary abnormalities, abdominal tenderness, liver and spleen not detected, redness and swelling of the right lower limb, depression on pressure, obvious pressure pain, hard cords can be palpated along the posterior tibial vein, light red tongue, yellowish greasy moss, smooth and slightly counted pulse. Laboratory and other special tests: blood count: WBC 8×l09/L, N70%, L20%, Doppler vascular ultrasonography: right lower limb embolic superficial phlebitis. Herbs: Erhua 30 g, Gangying 30 g, Lonicera 30 g, Phellodendron 10 g, Zhi Mu 10 g, Rhubarb 6 g, Slippery Rock 15 g, Dan Pi 10 g, White Flower Snake 10 g, Leech 10 g, Dilong 15 g, Tao Ren 10 g, Chuan Niu Kne 15 g, Danshen 15 g, Licorice 5 g, decoction daily for 1 month, the symptoms disappeared. The main pathology of embolic phlebitis is blood stasis blocking the ligaments, and in the acute stage, it is also embedded with dampness and heat. Therefore, the use of white flower snake and other blood circulation, combined with heat-clearing and dampness-eliminating agents, so that the veins and channels open, dampness and heat removed, the pulse paralysis will be healed.
