Are soft brain foci life-threatening?

Cerebral softening foci are not life threatening because they are old lesions in the brain, and their formation is mainly related to cerebrovascular diseases. Generally, after the patient’s cerebral infarction or cerebral hemorrhage occurs, it leads to necrosis of brain cells and brain tissues, and about one year later, it will lead to the formation of soft foci of the patient, which is filled with cerebrospinal fluid, and clinically, soft foci of the brain will not lead to the patient’s symptoms. Symptoms are mainly related to the sequelae of neurological deficits, which may manifest as inflexible limb movement, speech clumsiness, or choking on water, but the soft lesion itself does not bring any physical effects. It should be noted that many patients undergo routine CT examination at the age of 50-60 years, which will reveal the formation of cavernous soft foci in the brain, which belongs to asymptomatic cerebral infarction, and patients should be given secondary preventive medication for cerebrovascular disease.
