Herpes simplex type 1 infection can be treated by systemic use of antiviral drugs and topical drugs.
1. Systemic use of drugs: commonly used antiviral drugs include acyclovir, valacyclovir, famciclovir, etc., which can shorten the course of the disease, improve the clinical symptoms, and reduce the chances of recurrence and transmission. Severe symptoms or generalized skin lesions can be treated by intravenous injection.
2. Topical medication: The treatment can be combined with topical medication as prescribed by the doctor, such as acyclovir ointment, ganciclovir ointment, etc. In case of secondary infection, topical medication such as foscarnet can be used. For secondary infections, fusidic acid cream and mupirocin ointment can be used externally.
Herpes simplex type 1 infection usually has a better prognosis, it is recommended to standardize the use of medication under the guidance of a doctor, and keep the affected area of the skin clean and hygienic.
