How to Exercise in January After Hip Replacement Surgery

One month after hip arthroplasty, you can generally move with the help of a walker, dorsiflexion and plantarflexion of the toes, and so on.
After hip arthroplasty, when the physical condition permits, you can practice active contraction movement of quadriceps muscle lying down on the bed after the operation, and lift up the affected limb, plantarflexion and dorsiflexion of foot, etc. Within 24 hours, you can start walking on the ground with the help of bystanders. Within 24 hours after surgery, you can start walking with the help of others. Walking alone with a walker can be started 1 week after surgery.
1 month after hip replacement, avoid doing stilt-legged movement, do not squat and cross-legged, etc., to prevent excessive flexion of the hip and knee dislocation of the hip joint. The rest of the activities can be done without any special conditions.
It is recommended to get out of bed at an early stage after hip replacement, and the time can be prolonged for those with poor tolerance or poor general condition. However, toe dorsiflexion and flexion and active movement of quadriceps should be practiced to prevent muscle atrophy and lower limb venous thrombosis.
