How long does a cardiac intervention take?

Cardiac interventions require a sterile environment in the catheterization room, and the overall time is usually between 0.5-2.5 hours. Sterilization, spreading of towels, and preparation of materials takes 10 minutes, and then the vascular puncture begins, which takes approximately 5-10 minutes in the absence of congenital malformations. If the vessel has no lesion or a mild lesion, no simultaneous treatment is required and the entire procedure takes approximately 20-30 minutes. If a vascular lesion requires treatment, the duration varies depending on the vascular condition. For milder lesions, 0.5 hours is usually sufficient. In some patients, three branch lesions, such as chronic occlusive, calcified, and tortuous lesions, are more complex and difficult and take longer, between approximately 1-2 hours.
