In most cases, the stools of toddlers gradually take shape between 4 and 6 months after birth, due to normal changes in diet and physiological needs. During the first to fourth months of life, the intestinal tract is not yet fully functional and babies need to be fed with liquid food such as breast milk or formula milk. Due to the single food structure, the stools will be thin, mostly in the form of thin paste or paste. After 4 to 6 months of life, due to the gradual emergence of complementary foods, the stools may begin to have vegetable fibers, and therefore may gradually form a stereotyped, dry stool. Therefore, whether or not a toddler’s stools are formed has a lot to do with diet, and is not directly related to the month. If the baby has not been fed with complementary foods at 6 months, the stools may still be mushy. When there are obvious abnormalities in your child’s stools, it is important to consult a doctor and follow the doctor’s instructions for appropriate treatment.
