Does honeysuckle cure laryngitis?

Pharyngolaryngitis is the category of laryngeal paralysis (redness, swelling and pain in the pharynx, or dryness, foreign body sensation, or itchy discomfort in the pharynx, and difficulty in swallowing) in Chinese medicine, which needs to be diagnosed and treated. Honeysuckle can treat pharyngitis caused by external wind-heat and other types of pharyngitis cannot be treated. Honeysuckle is sweet and cold in nature, and belongs to the lung and stomach meridians. It has the effects of clearing heat and removing toxins (removing heat and toxins from the body), and evacuating wind-heat. It is mainly suitable for people with paralysis of the throat caused by external wind-heat, accompanied by headache, nasal congestion, fear of wind, cough and other symptoms. Honeysuckle is not suitable for people with cold spleen and stomach and those with sores and ulcers belonging to yin. Throat paralysis may also be caused by yin deficiency and fire exuberance, such as manifesting as vague pain in the throat, dry mouth and thirst, sweating a lot in bed, and insomnia before going to bed. It can be treated with Liu Wei Di Huang Wan and Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan, and honeysuckle is not suitable. It is recommended that people with throat discomfort should consult a doctor in a timely manner, follow the doctor’s instructions for examination and treatment, to avoid the abuse of drugs, delaying the condition or producing adverse reactions.
