Above the navel are organs such as the large intestine, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and stomach. Above the navel belongs to the upper abdomen, where most of the digestive organs are gathered. Directly above the navel is the large intestine, mainly the transverse colon and duodenum of the large intestine. Above the transverse colon are the organs of liver, gallbladder and pancreas, which play the role of secreting digestive juices to assist in the digestion and decomposition of food. The common ducts of the gallbladder and pancreas are directly connected to the duodenum and drain bile and pancreatic juices into the duodenum through the duodenal papilla to aid in food digestion. Above the duodenum is the stomach, an important digestive organ of the body, whose main function is to store and initially digest food. The stomach is also able to secrete digestive juices to aid in the absorption of food. When there is pain above the belly button, most of the time it is caused by diseases in these organs and requires CT, ultrasound, or gastroscopy to help confirm the diagnosis.
