What to do about tonsil abscesses

Tonsil abscess needs timely abscess incision and drainage, strengthen anti-infection, swelling and other symptomatic treatment.
Tonsil abscess is also clinically known as peritonsil abscess, due to the aggravation of local inflammation of the tonsils, the infection spreads to the interstitial space around the tonsils, thus gradually forming peritonsil abscess. Clinical symptoms are often characterized by sore throat and fever, accompanied by obvious difficulty in swallowing, and in severe cases, even breathlessness.
Peritonsillar abscesses are mostly caused by bacterial infections. Before abscesses are formed, a sufficient amount of antibiotics and an appropriate amount of glucocorticoids are used to control inflammation, and penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics are used to fight infection, such as penicillin and cefuroxime, etc. Glucocorticoids are used, such as dexamethasone, etc. If it is clear that an abscess has formed, it can be treated with antibiotics.
If it is clear that there is abscess formation, timely puncture and extraction of pus or incision and drainage of pus. Under local anesthesia, the most elevated part of the abscess can be punctured, and the pus can be extracted. Or along the most elevated abscess incision, long curved vascular forceps through the incision into the pus cavity, fully drain the pus. If necessary, the next day to open again to drain the pus. Continue treatment with adequate amounts of sensitive antibiotics or adjust antibiotic therapy according to the results of drug sensitization.
If there is a tonsil abscess, it is recommended to go to the regular hospital for timely consultation and symptomatic treatment.
