Hypertension combined with heart attack preferred antihypertensive drugs

There are five major classes of antihypertensive drugs: 1. dihydropyridine calcium antagonists (CCB). 2. angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEI). 3. angiotensin II receptor antagonists (ARB). 4. beta-blockers. 5. diuretics. These five types of antihypertensive drugs have their own characteristics, and can generally be selected according to the patient’s condition. When hypertension combined with heart attack, β-blockers and angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors should be preferred, both of which are efficacious in preventing cardiovascular events in patients with coronary artery disease after acute myocardial infarction. Therefore, the clinical application of antihypertensive drugs, according to the patient’s condition to choose one of these five categories of antihypertensive drugs or a combination of drugs.
