Intraoperative complications of interventional procedures

The most common complication in interventional procedures is bleeding from ruptured blood vessels due to vascular injury. If the brain undergoes an interventional procedure with damage to the blood vessels in the brain, the possibility of cerebral hemorrhage can occur. If the bleeding is high it can lead to severe dizziness, headache, nausea, vomiting or even coma and brain herniation formation. If there is very strong brainstem compression, even central respiratory failure leading to death may occur. If the intervention of the heart may damage the coronary artery of the heart and cause bleeding, this condition can also easily cause bleeding of the coronary artery, resulting in abnormal heart beat and even malignant arrhythmia, which may be life-threatening.
