Is it okay to eat alcoholic curd after taking cephalosporin?

Disulfiram reaction may occur between cephalosporins and alcohol, therefore it is not recommended to take cephalosporins and then consume curd containing alcohol.
Cephalosporins (e.g. cefuroxime, ceftazidime, etc.) can react with alcohol in a disulfiram reaction (because cephalosporins contain components that can inhibit the activity of the enzyme acetaldehyde dehydrogenase, resulting in the inability to metabolize ethanol properly), and the clinical manifestations of this reaction may include nausea, vomiting, insomnia and sweating, and in severe cases, edema of the larynx, drop in blood pressure, and even loss of consciousness.
Therefore, it is recommended not to consume alcohol and foods containing alcohol (such as curd) in the near future after taking cephalosporins to avoid disulfiram reaction, which can lead to serious consequences.
