What’s with the soft poop?

Soft stools may be a normal physiological phenomenon, or it may be related to poor dietary habits, gastrointestinal dysfunction and gastrointestinal diseases.
1. Physiological phenomenon: Normal stools are shaped, strip-shaped, and their hardness is usually related to the type of food, so soft stools may be a normal physiological phenomenon.
2. Pathological phenomena
(1) Poor dietary habits: when consuming irritating, cold, spicy food, it may irritate the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract, resulting in soft stools, and the stools may not be shaped.
(2) Gastrointestinal tract dysfunction: When there is indigestion and gastrointestinal tract dysfunction, it may lead to intestinal digestion and absorption dysfunction, resulting in changes in stool properties, soft stools and unformed stools.
(3) Gastrointestinal diseases: Gastroenteritis may lead to soft stools and may be accompanied by abdominal pain and diarrhea.
If the above symptoms persist, the cause should be clarified under the guidance of a doctor and treated actively, paying attention to a light diet.
