The consequences of untreated myeloedema depend on the cause of the myeloedema, if the myeloedema is caused by infection, if not treated, the condition will gradually aggravate, resulting in pathological fracture, or the gradual increase of the pus cavity compression of the surrounding tissues and the emergence of ischemia, necrosis of the limb, or cause the formation of sinus tracts. If the bone marrow edema is caused by trauma, in this case, if not treated, generally the bone marrow edema will slowly subside, and basically can be restored to normal function and normal conditions. In this case, there are usually no sequelae.
