What is white lung disease?

White lung is an imaging manifestation of the lungs. On imaging films, normal lung tissue is black, and when lung tissue shows large or all white solid lesions, it is called white lung. The common clinical causes of white lung disease are severe pneumonia and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Leukoplakia is commonly seen in severe pneumonia due to bacterial, viral, and legionella infections, diffuse alveolar hemorrhage syndrome and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) due to various causes such as pancreatitis and severe burns. White lung disease has a high mortality rate. Large white solid lesions in the lung tissue lead to loss of lung function, and the patient develops intractable hypoxemia, respiratory failure, and simultaneous multi-organ failure of the heart, kidneys, and liver. If the patient is not feeling well, please consult the doctor immediately, complete the examination, clarify the cause and diagnosis, and standardize the treatment under the guidance of the doctor, so as not to delay the condition.
