The earliest pregnancy can be seen on ultrasound when the menstrual cycle is regular, at about 40 days after menopause, and the development of the gestational sac and fetal buds can be seen on ultrasound, during which the blood test for chorionic gonadotropin level will reach more than 3000 IU/L and the progesterone level will reach 15 ng/ml, in order to determine that the woman has a normal intrauterine pregnancy. In rare cases, if a woman’s menstrual cycle is irregular with delayed menstruation, or if the fertilized egg is late in its development, the time to see the gestational sac under ultrasound may be slightly shorter, and may be seen only after 50-60 days of menopause. It may not be visible until about 50-60 days after menopause. The chorionic gonadotropin level will be checked regularly by blood test, and the woman will be observed for lower abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding, and ultrasound will be done at any time.
