Is the rabies vaccine safe and reliable?

The rabies vaccine is a safe and reliable vaccine that is currently the only weapon humans have against the rabies virus. The rabies virus is a malignant infectious disease that is preventable but not curable. It usually develops from broken skin into subcutaneous nerve tissue and then into the central nervous system. If you have been bitten by a rabid dog or stray cat and the skin is broken, you need to go to the nearest immunization station for rabies vaccination. Rabies vaccination requires a total of five injections over a period of one month. After the injection, the rabies vaccine is able to produce effective antibodies against the rabies virus to protect against rabies infection.
