What to do if your child has chicken pox and fever

Chickenpox is a contagious disease caused by varicella zoster virus infection, children with chickenpox fever, can be treated by physical fever, medication, antiviral therapy and other measures.
1. Physical fever: when the fever is low or the child’s mental state is good, you can wipe the palms of the hands, feet, neck, chest and other parts of the warm water, at the same time, with a cool towel, or ice on the forehead, to reduce physical fever.
2. Medication to reduce fever: If there is a high fever, such as a temperature over 38.5 degrees, or the child’s mental state is poor, you can take acetaminophen, ibuprofen and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs to treat the symptoms.
3. Antiviral treatment: If the chickenpox is severe or there are complications such as pneumonia or encephalitis, use antiviral drugs such as acyclovir as soon as possible.
