Pathologic grade III kidney cancer without metastasis recurrence rate

The recurrence rate of renal cancer pathological grade III without metastasis has not been reported in detail, and the recurrence rate of renal cancer is related to the pathological type, tumor stage, surgical method, physical condition and other factors. According to WHO/ISUP grading system, renal cancer can be classified into grade I, II, III and IV, in which grade III means that the nucleus is obvious and eosinophilic under 100x microscope. Grade III renal cancer suggests a higher degree of tumor malignancy, relatively active biological behavior, and a relatively higher possibility of postoperative recurrence. However, there is no high-quality study in China to illustrate the metastasis-free recurrence rate of renal cancer of pathological grade III. Some studies claim that early-stage renal cancer may still recur/metastasize after surgery, and recurrence and metastasis often occur within 1 to 2 years after surgery, and most of them occur within 5 years after surgery, with an incidence rate of 20% to 30%; among the new-onset cases, distant metastasis has already occurred in 20% to 30% of the patients at the time of diagnosis. If recurrence of metastasis occurs after kidney cancer surgery, further treatment is needed, and the current treatments include re-surgery treatment, ablation treatment, radiotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy and so on. If kidney cancer is suspected or diagnosed, it is recommended to go to regular hospitals for comprehensive assessment of the condition, follow the doctor’s instructions and choose appropriate treatment plan to improve the prognosis of patients, so as to avoid delaying the condition.
