Can a left patella fracture be left untreated?

A left patella fracture is not untreatable. It can be treated without surgery if the fracture ends are in good alignment and there is no separation and displacement.
A left patella fracture is considered an intra-articular fracture, and if left untreated may affect the function of the left knee joint, resulting in limited movement of the left knee. The patella connects the lower leg to the thigh and straightens the knee. If left patella fracture is left untreated, it may result in pain in the left knee, inability to extend the left foot, and inability to lift the left calf.
When the left patella fracture ends are well aligned and there is no separation and displacement, it is usually recommended to treat the fracture conservatively and surgery is not needed. If the fracture site is misaligned, surgery is usually recommended.
Patients with left patella fracture are advised to rest in bed, reduce activities, strengthen nutrition, eat more magnesium-containing, nutrient-rich food, fresh vegetables and fruits, and eat less spicy and stimulating food to promote fracture healing.
If the diagnosis is left patella fracture, it is recommended to carry out standardized treatment as soon as possible to reduce the adverse effects of the disease.
