The difference between TCT and quantitative DNA cytology is that TCT shows whether there are lesions in the cervical epithelium, which is one of the screening tests for cervical cancer, and it can be said to be the result. The DNA-HPV test, on the other hand, is a clinical test to understand whether the cervical epithelium is infected with high-risk HPV and low-risk HPV, which is the main cause of cervical cancer. Therefore, there is a difference between the two, one is the result and the other is the cause, and the two should be combined to give an analysis, so both tests should be done for cervical cancer screening. If there is an abnormality in one of them, then further tests such as colposcopy will be needed.
