How to treat white matter degeneration of the brain

Cerebral white matter degeneration is the imaging manifestation of neurodegenerative changes, mainly caused by genetics, atherosclerosis, viral infections, autoimmunity and other factors. Patients are mainly relieved by general treatment and causative treatment.
1. General treatment: patients need to take a light diet, get more rest, strictly control blood pressure and blood sugar levels, and closely monitor the development of the disease.
2. Causal treatment: Leukoencephalopathy caused by atherosclerosis can be treated with anti-platelet drugs such as aspirin and clopidogrel; leukoencephalopathy caused by viral infection can be treated with antiviral drugs such as famciclovir; leukoencephalopathy caused by autoimmune disease can be treated with immunosuppressants such as rituximab and azathioprine.
It is recommended that patients clarify the cause of the disease as soon as possible, early treatment, and need to use medication under the guidance of a doctor.
