This product has the effects of warming the kidneys and transforming qi, inducing diuresis and eliminating edema (clearing urine and eliminating water retention). It is used in treating kidney deficiency and edema caused by deficiency of kidney yang (lack of yang qi in the kidneys), internal retention of water-dampness (water-dampness stays in the body), fatigue and heaviness in the waist and knees, urinary incontinence (unsmooth urination), and phlegm-drinking (pathological products formed by impaired metabolism of water and fluid) coughing and wheezing. Note that this product contains prepared epiphyllum, which is very hot and toxic, so it should not be taken in excess or for a long period of time.
