Tear duct exploration is a minimally invasive procedure that normally takes a short time to perform and can be completed with only superficial anesthesia, without the risk of general anesthesia and without leaving any scars on the face. A little post-operative bleeding and eyelid swelling should be normal surgical reactions, and parents should not be nervous, as they can generally heal on their own.
