Initial symptoms of chronic nephritis mainly include: changes in urine, weakness, fatigue, back pain, lack of appetite, and edema. The vast majority of chronic nephritis develops from primary glomerular diseases of different causes, and only a few chronic nephritis develops from acute nephritis. Chronic nephritis is characterized by proteinuria, hematuria, hypertension and edema as its basic clinical manifestations. Chronic nephritis can occur at any age, but is predominant in young and middle-aged people, and is more common in men. Most of the patients have a slow and insidious onset of the disease. Early patients may have no special symptoms, patients may have weakness, fatigue, back pain and lack of appetite; edema may or may not be present, usually not serious.
