A broken foot, also known as an ankle sprain, is very difficult to heal on its own within three days, and the exact recovery time depends on the extent of the injury and the specific treatment. Ankle sprain is an injury to the soft tissues around the joint, such as ligaments, tendons, joint capsule and other parts of the joint, caused during walking or exercise, which can result in pain around the joint, swelling, subcutaneous ecchymosis, loss of stability of the joint, impaired joint movement and other symptoms. Mild sprains of the ankle usually heal themselves within about 1~2 weeks with adequate rest and braking. In the case of more serious injuries such as ligament tears, immobilization and braking in a cast or brace should be carried out, and 4~6 weeks of rest are needed before going down to the ground and gradually returning to normal. If the ankle joint injury leads to ligament rupture or even fracture, surgical treatment should be carried out, ligament suture repair or cut and replace fracture internal fixation, etc., and it takes 6~8 weeks after treatment to go down to the ground and gradually recover. If the foot is broken, it is recommended that the patient timely hospital consultation, after a clear diagnosis of standardized treatment, so as not to delay the condition.
