There are many causes of knee swelling and pain, and biologic treatment can not be generalized. For some autoimmune system diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and other factors caused by knee swelling and pain, biologic treatment can be carried out, and it can play a certain effect. 1. Rheumatoid arthritis: commonly used biological agents include tumor necrosis factor α inhibitors such as etanercept and adalimumab, interleukin-1 receptor antagonists such as aminopterin, and interleukin-6 receptor antagonists such as tolizumab. All of them inhibit inflammatory factors through different targets to achieve the purpose of treating rheumatoid arthritis. 2. Ankylosing spondylitis: commonly used biologics include tumor necrosis factor antagonists such as enalapril, adalimumab, infliximab, etc., which are able to inhibit the biological activity of tumor necrosis factor and thus block the cellular reaction involved in tumor necrosis factor. Biological agents also exist drug substance side effects, such as injection site local reaction, infection, leukopenia, etc. In addition, before the use of biological agents, need to strictly exclude hepatitis, tuberculosis and oncological diseases, etc., so it is recommended that the patient strictly comply with the doctor’s instructions to use the drug, in order to avoid adverse effects.
