There is only one liver in a normal human body. In normal people, the liver is predominantly located in the right upper abdomen, and the liver of a normal adult consists of 500,000 to 1,000,000 liver lobules. The liver is one of the most important metabolic organs, with the function of storing liver glycogen, antioxidant, synthesizing and secreting proteins. The liver has the role of secreting bile, which is stored in the gallbladder and is mainly involved in the absorption and digestion of food. The liver is divided into two lobes i.e. left lobe and right lobe of the liver and surgically the liver is further divided into eight segments according to segments to facilitate fine surgical treatment. If a patient experiences discomfort in the liver region of the right upper abdomen, it is recommended to visit the hospital promptly to clarify whether it is a liver disease or not and to treat it aggressively under the doctor’s guidance.
