The diagnosis and treatment of hip pain in Chinese medicine is based on the clinical symptoms of the patient, combined with the tongue and pulse signs. There are two types of hip pain in Chinese medicine: the first is the category of paralysis; the second is the category of bone disease. Most of the patients in the category of paralysis have a history of obvious strain or trauma, and these patients often have increased pain in the hip bone during seasonal changes, cloudy days and rain. The second type is the liver and kidney deficiency type, mostly seen in the middle-aged and elderly, most of these patients will show weakness in the waist and knees, easy to play weak legs, and the tongue will show a red tongue with little coating and a sunken and weak pulse. The third type is damp-heat injection. Patients with damp-heat injection will have a red tongue with yellowish greasy coating, and often have a series of complications such as scrotal dampness, anal stickiness and burning sensation.
