There are many reasons why patients develop tibial pain, and the causes of the condition vary by age. If this phenomenon of tibial pain occurs in children, tibial pain occurs because the tibial tuberosity epiphysis has not yet closed in children and children are prone to tibial tuberosity epiphysitis after exercise. This tibial pain will be relieved gradually after bed rest or localized hot compress treatment. In adults, if a tibial fracture occurs as a result of an external force, the patient will feel a pins-and-needles pain in the tibia. In addition, the patient will not be able to bear weight, and the knee joint will be restricted, with localized pressure pain and abnormal movement. The pain will gradually improve with local immobilization, external ointment for blood circulation, swelling and pain relief, or oral medication for bone setting. Therefore, after the occurrence of tibial pain, the patient should first clarify the cause of the disease and make a differential diagnosis before taking proper treatment.
