Cistanchis is a yang tonic with the effects of tonifying kidney yang, benefiting essence and blood, moistening the intestines and relieving constipation. Cistanchis is contraindicated for people with yin deficiency and fire (deficiency of yin and essence in the body and hyperactive fire) and loose stool (thin and unshaped feces) and diarrhea, and is not suitable for people with solid heat in the stomach and intestines and constipation due to hot constipation, and the adverse effects are still not clear.
