There are two main causes of lumbar soft tissue injury: 1, lumbar sprain Mostly caused by walking and slipping, jumping, flashing and twisting the body, running, mostly due to muscle and ligament strain, but also by coughing, sneezing, etc., so the injury is light. 2, lumbar contusion is a more serious injury, such as lifting, carrying heavy objects in the process of excessive force or improper posture, resulting in injury and tear of the musculofascial, ligament, intervertebral joint and joint capsule of the lumbar region. Clinical manifestations Immediately after the injury, the patient has lumbar pain, which is persistent and severe, and the next day may be more severe due to local bleeding, swelling, and lumbar pain; some only slightly twist the lumbar area, and there is no obvious pain at that time, but the next day after rest, the lumbar pain is felt. When standing, the back is often held by the hands and when sitting, the hands are used to support the chair to relieve the pain. The pain occurs immediately on one or both sides after lumbar muscle sprain; sometimes the pain can occur half a day or overnight after the injury, and the lumbar movement is obstructed, and the pain is slightly lighter at rest, but more severe when moving or coughing. On examination, local muscle tension, pressure pain and traction pain are obvious, but there is no bruising. Treatment In the acute stage, bed rest should be given. If the pressure point is obvious, the painful point can be closed, and supplemented with physical therapy. Local ointment can also be applied to activate blood circulation, disperse bruises and relieve pain. After the symptoms are alleviated, gradually start to exercise the lumbar back muscles.
