Can a brain aneurysm heal on its own?

Cerebral aneurysm, also known as intracranial aneurysm, is an aneurysm-like protrusion of the arterial wall within the skull due to local vascular anomalies, and the main hazard is rupture and bleeding of the aneurysm, which generally cannot be cured by itself. Treatment includes drug therapy, surgery, endovascular intervention and so on.
1. Drug treatment: drugs should be used under the guidance of doctors.
(1) Antihypertensive drugs:
The purpose is to control blood pressure and reduce the risk of bleeding. Commonly used drugs are amlodipine, nimodipine and so on.
(2) Anti-fibrinolytic agents:
The main purpose is to prevent aneurysm rebleeding. Applicable to patients with ruptured aneurysm, commonly used drugs are aminocaproic acid, tranexamic acid and so on.
2.Surgical treatment:
Craniotomy with microsurgical technique to clip the aneurysm tip is the main treatment method. The purpose is to block the blood supply of cerebral aneurysm and avoid rebleeding. It is suitable for patients with ruptured cerebral aneurysm and giant size (diameter larger than 2.5 cm) or with symptoms.
3. Endovascular intervention:
It is to make the aneurysm occluded by releasing the releasable balloon or spring coil inside the aneurysm. It is suitable for those who fail to have craniotomy or recurrence after operation, those who fail to be completely clamped by operation, those who are difficult to be clamped by aneurysm, or those who are unsuitable for craniotomy due to the systemic and local conditions (e.g., rheumatoid artery disease, thrombocytopenia, hepatic and renal insufficiency, psoriasis of the scalp, etc.), and it is combined with the surgical treatment.
If patients have headache, dizziness, gradually appearing vision loss and blurred vision, they should go to the hospital for timely consultation and timely treatment to avoid rupture of cerebral aneurysm, which may cause serious consequences such as paralysis, blindness, aphasia, etc., affecting the quality of life of the patients, or even endangering the lives of the patients.
