Recurrence rate of liver cancer after clean surgical resection

The recurrence rate of most liver cancers is generally low after clean surgical resection. If the tumor is in advanced stage or distant metastasis occurs, the recurrence rate is high despite clean tumor resection, and there is no specific value.
If the result of pathological examination of the tumor tissue ends up being benign, there will basically be no recurrence after complete surgical resection of the tumor tissue. If the tumor belongs to junctional tumor tissue or early malignant tumor, the risk of recurrence is not excluded after complete surgical resection, but the recurrence rate is generally low.
If the liver cancer belongs to advanced malignant stage, even though the surgery can completely resect the tumor tissues, distant metastasis of tumor cells is likely to exist, so there is still a high recurrence rate after resection, but there is no specific value.
Therefore, after complete resection of liver cancer, it is still necessary to have regular checkups in order to know whether there is any recurrence.
